Getting out of your comfort zones

You can measure your comfort zones with certain anxiety levels. It is long not as scary as it sounds, depending where you are of course. Everything you do is part of that certain anxiety level. If you do your normal chores these actions will be part of your comfort zone so you won’t feel anxiety but let’s say you are starting a new job, at this point you are leaving your comfort zone and entering a learning zone. If you oversleep or miss the bus on your first day at that new job then you will no longer be in a learning zone but in a panic zone.

The Watcher, looking from the inside out

When I was invited to write an article and saw the themes One was standing out immediately to me: Watch. The other one was Capable. These two seems to be connected to each other. If you are wired as an empath or high sensitive, there is a different way of looking at the world around you. The openness to the energies around you are making it a necessity to start watching the situation from the inside. It is the only way to detect and to identify which energy belongs to yourself, or is part of your surroundings. Of course, I can only talk from my own experience and point of view. Apparently I am not alone and in great company with those who are more the exception than the rule.

Mindfulness

In a modern society we live in nowadays mindfulness is still not fully accepted but it might be time to actually talk about this, since practise on mindfulness has proven itself to work against several mental health problems.

What is mindfulness?

Mindfulness is being basically paying attention on purpose. You are observing and experiencing something that is occurring without really judging. In the beginning it might seem difficult because we judge and have an opinion all the time. But that is not what is central in mindfulness.  When you get your mind to stop and relax for a moment you are experiencing that walk home instead of thinking about work, the bad weather or what you are having for dinner tonight. You respect what you experience without judging what is good or bad and are concerned with noticing what’s going on. Training and courses on mindfulness is meditating, sitting with your back straight and breathing from deep down, paying attention to abdomen. Yet you stay non-reactiave and non-judgemental. Eventually silence will emerge in your mind and bring your head to rest. Especially after a long day of work this is advised as it’s considered to contribute your well-being and mental health.

I have been reading a lot of blogs over the years, long before I started writing my own blog, called What is Love? and the Heartfelt Messages I started writing in July 2013 in France during our holliday over there. My husband had been diagnosed with coloncancer and already had his 4th chemo therapy and considering the way it had its impact physically as well mentally and emotionally, we decided to take a period of rest during our 3 week retraite in a place we always feel at home.

A poem is worth more than a billion pixels

I had never felt so empowered. I had expressed myself, healed myself, entertained myself, recorded myself and I had changed the way I felt. All through the simple act of writing a poem.

I hadn’t intended to write a poem indeed nothing had been further from my mind because I was on an archaeological field trip. In Ireland last summer.

You could tell it was summer because the trees were green and the kids were out of school but the cold wind and rain made it feel like winter, or possibly like summer, in Patagonia.

How can we go through life with grace?

When we are up against unexpected situations that need to be addressed, it is always asking a lot from our flexibility how we can deal with emotions that come with it. When it is a very loving and joy filled experience it is easy, this will come natural because our innate state is one of Love and Joy, so we are more then capable of reflecting this to the outside world and encounters. Yet when a situation is straining, difficult or dangerous, how much more effort will it take to be as easy going. Because the joy filled encounters are also symbol of easy going. We would like to be like that most of the time. Yet most of us are not able to be that way, especially when it is asking more of your inner balance.

The way we experience our day to day life will show this ongoing flow through the motions, positive and negative emotions that are demanding our attention. The more we can expand our innate nature into the challenges, the more we will be able to handle the negative emotions with more ease. Yet it is a big step from ease to grace. So what is grace anyways? What is it you expect yourself to be or able to handle difficult situations? We all grow up in different surroundings, in different families and social environment with all the different roles caused by duality in our world. In order to learn how to connect with our innate nature of love and grace, joy and abundance as we are being told, it can take a lot of effort from our part to even get close to this ideal outcome.

I was reading these words and read the reply of someone else who had posted this. The great Unknown… I try to befriend this more and more. Sometimes it is very scary she replied to me. I answered it is still work in the process after my love made his transition this year, yet I also know, there is this deep inner knowing of our Love, which carries me through the day, into the loving arms at night, guarded and protected on a whole new level. For my life felt and still feels upside down at times after his departure and leaving me alone for the very first time in my life.
